Late Gothic castle church from the 15th century
The late Gothic castle church from the 15th century was given a Baroque tower dome by Stengel in 1743. After being badly damaged in the Second World War, it was rebuilt in the 1950s and decorated with ornate Meistermann windows. The choir contains the tombs of the last princes of Saarbrücken. After extensive restoration, the castle church was reopened in summer 2004 and provides an impressive setting for the presentation of the sacred art and cultural monuments owned by the Saarland Cultural Heritage Foundation.
