Saarland's leading museum with art from the 19th century to the present day.

The Moderne Galerie is home to one of the most important collections of German Expressionism and Art Informel. Brücke, Blauer Reiter, Berliner Secession – Max Liebermann, Lovis Corinth, Max Slevogt, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Max Pechstein, Otto Mueller... - the list goes on and on.

World-famous: the 'Blue Horse' by Franz Marc

The sculpture garden is located on the south side of the Modern Gallery. It was created back in the 1960s at the same time as the museum was built and is characterised by precious old trees. Numerous works can be found here, including the bronze sculpture 'Vénus sans bras' by Aristide Maillol.
