The administrative building of Saarbergwerke, formerly known as the "Royal Prussian Mining Directorate," was constructed in 1880 by Martin Gropius and Heino Schmieden in the style of Florentine Renaissance.This historic building has been integrated into the Europa-Galerie shopping center, preserving the protected architectural elements and the facade. You can admire the original artworks such as the cast iron staircases, the historic tile flooring by Villeroy & Boch, the former banquet hall and the valuable stained glass windows during a shopping trip there.
